The Orton-Gillingham Approach is an explicit, multi-sensory, sequential, diagnostic and systematic way to teach literacy when reading, writing, and spelling does not come easily to individuals, such as those with dyslexia or other learning differences.
Many students need help learning the sounds of the English language and their association with symbols. They found that breaking language down into simple, easy to understand pieces and then teaching them using structured lessons was an effective approach for all struggling readers.
